Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

These Terms govern your use of the Photo2XL iOS app ("Photo2XL" or "the App") and this Website. By using either, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Apple's standard licensed-application terms also apply where required by the App Store.

2. What Photo2XL Does

Photo2XL reads metadata available to iOS from photos you authorize and creates XLSX or CSV spreadsheets. Optional features can package selected photo files, create supported privacy-clean copies that remove location and sensitive camera, date and author metadata, and add a SHA-256 manifest. The App does not modify originals in your Photos library.

You do not need a Photo2XL account. A compatible device running iOS or iPadOS 17.6 or later is required. Some iCloud-hosted photos require a network download before export.

3. Your Photos and Generated Files

You retain your rights in photos and other material you use with the App. You are responsible for having permission to access, process, copy, and share that material, and for choosing appropriate recipients and storage destinations.

Exported metadata can be incomplete, absent, altered by prior editing, or reported differently by other software. Review generated files and source photos before relying on or sharing them. Keep independent backups of files that matter to you.

4. Documentation and Manifest Limitations

Photo2XL is an organization and export tool, not a forensic authentication service. A spreadsheet records metadata available at export time. The optional manifest records hashes and export details for files in the generated package; a later mismatch can indicate that a packaged file changed.

Neither the spreadsheet nor manifest proves that a source photo is authentic, establishes provenance or chain of custody, certifies that a photo is unedited, or guarantees legal, regulatory, insurance, contractual, or evidentiary acceptance. Photo2XL does not provide legal, forensic, accounting, or compliance advice. Consult a qualified professional for high-stakes use.

5. Free Sample and Photo2XL Pro

The free download includes one successfully completed sample export of up to 3 photos. Photo2XL Pro is a one-time lifetime in-app purchase that removes the App's photo-count cap; it is not a subscription. The App Store displays the local price and applicable taxes before purchase.

Apple processes purchases, restores, and eligible refunds. Purchase availability, Family Sharing, payment methods, and refund decisions are governed by Apple's terms and store rules. Existing eligible lifetime purchasers may retain access through Photo2XL's entitlement-migration support.

6. Acceptable Use

You must not use the App or Website to:

• Violate applicable law or another person's privacy, intellectual-property, or contractual rights.
• Access or share photos without authorization.
• Misrepresent Photo2XL output as an authenticity, chain-of-custody, or admissibility certification.
• Interfere with security, availability, purchases, or normal operation of the App or Website.
• Reverse engineer the App except where applicable law expressly permits it.

7. Intellectual Property

Photo2XL's software, design, branding, and original Website content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms and Apple's licensed-application terms, you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the App on supported Apple devices associated with your account.

8. Availability and Changes

We may fix, change, add, or remove features and may update these Terms. Device performance, photo format, available metadata, iCloud status, storage, and third-party services can affect results. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Disclaimer

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR ACCEPTANCE OF GENERATED OUTPUT BY A THIRD PARTY. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES WARRANTIES OR RIGHTS THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, BUSINESS, OR OPPORTUNITY ARISING FROM USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE PHOTO2XL. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR A CLAIM RELATED TO PHOTO2XL WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR PHOTO2XL OR USD 100. APPLICABLE LAW MAY PROVIDE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS OR LIMIT THESE EXCLUSIONS.

11. Changes, Severability, and Contact
